Enlightenment: Address the skills/knowledge deficit within S&B Software development community by conducting workshops & Meetups around various topics including the Microservices Architecture, DevOps culture and practice, Reactive Paradigm & Functional Programming and Modern Data Management Practices & Architecture.
Standardization: Keep up with the technology advancement and contribute on specifying the right technical standards and organizational processes that push forward Scheidt & Bachmann
Cross-divisional development: Development of Common Code and Common Components to set up the basics for synergy between divisions and establish one-house standards. Under this activity, we are having two agile team working on the following projects:
The Program Manager Project: While The Microservice architecture style is widely adopted in the backend to achieve flexibility in development and operation, most frontend solutions are still running as a monolithic application. The Program Manager project is the next generation frontend composition framework in Scheidt & Bachman that aims to address where multiple software pieces, based on different web technologies can be combined in one software solution.
The Configuration Management Project: The current S&B systems provide extensive sets of parameters to allow the systems to be configured in conformance with the requirements of a particular project/client. The Configuration Management System (a.k.a Houston) is an ecosystem of software services, development tools and processes that aim to improve Scheidt & Bachmann software delivery pipeline starting from development, configuration, release management, validation and operation.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain documentation and requirements
• Create & Update test descriptions
• Develop & update test scripts
• Make manual testing when it’s needed
• Prepare test reports
• Open & check bugs
• Take responsibility for and be engaged to improve the entire QA lifecycle
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Work in an agile development environment
Must:
• At least two years of test automation experience AFTER university
• Technical study in computer science or a comparable domain
• Deep knowledge in Python, Robot Framework, protractor and jasmine
• Good debugging skills
• Excellent English language skills
• Self contained way of working
• Tolerant attitude to different cultures
• Mindset for agile software development
Should:
• Experience with CI / CD tools like TeamCity/Jenkins
• Knowledge in the following technical domains: Webservices, Hosting, Virtualization techniques, Linux
• Knowledge in the following tools: wireshark, tcpdump, firebug, Chrome DevTools, testlink, Jira
Nice to have:
• Knowledge of the German Language
• Experience with dockerization / orchestration tools
• willing to occasionally travel to Germany
