A multinational company located in Manouba Tunisia, operating in textile industry is looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety Supervisor (coordinator) to support the H&S team.

Role Purpose:

  • To lead the site in implementing and achieving HS leading and lagging indicators and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • To collaborate with the Site Head in implementing the Global Health & Safety Policy and the Global Environmental Policy.
  • To work with the Regional EHS team to identify and develop HS best practice programs and embed the practices throughout the countries and local sites
  • To conducts Risk Assessments & quarterly analysis of Health and Safety key Coats programs and updates site head during management review meetings.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide guidance and leadership to the Site Head and site management teams in:

  • The implementation of and compliance with local regulations, company policies, EHS Best Practices and the Global EHS strategy through the implementation of site-specific programs.
  • Establishing and maintaining culture where line managers ensure a safe working environment and safe working practices.
  • Implementing safe working place practices through Job Safety Analysis, work instructions, effective training and communication.
  • Recommend departmental EHS objectives and targets in line with site requirements.
  • Implement all requirements for Governmental (legal) authorities (Fire brigade - H&S legal office - Environment governmental office).
  • Ordering, purchasing, controlling PPE stock, distribution, personal record keeping for PPE
  • Analyze and interpret appropriate data to ensure effective corrective actions are taken.
  • Develop and provide training, coaching and support to all employees, embedding EHS Best Practices.
  • Formally report on site activities, non-compliances and incidents in line with the global reporting requirements.
  • Support and Participate in Auditing (Peer Review) for sites using the Global H&S Audit template and provide guidance and support to improve performance.
  • Identifies the resources needed for an effective H&S program meeting corporate and regulatory requirements.
Assist business/sites in making decisions on resource needs at business/site level

  • Implementation, following up all requirements for ISO 14001 Environmental Management system and ISO 45001 Health & Safety management system.
  • Ensure that all incidents, near misses and significant non-compliances are identified, reported and thoroughly investigated with appropriate and effective corrective actions taken.
  • Develops site-specific emergency response procedures and support Business Continuity Plan.
  • Ensure that Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is tested annually or as needed.
  • Supports with site specific design reviews
  • Supports new product development H&S review process
  • Conducts new process and new equipment reviews to identify risks in advance of process or equipment installation at sites.
  • Responsible to report and escalate any community issue and work with Group H&S and local leadership to address.
  • Escalates to Regional H&S and Group Communications as applicable.
  • Responsible to develop and manage the day-to-day budget at the country or local level.
Responsible to work with management to manage the day-to-day country and site H&S budget

Education & Certificates:

  • Bachelor degree & professional EHS management qualification: Engineering Bachelor or science Bachelor will be preferable 
  • Years of Experience:  From 4 to 6 years of EHS management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Language skills: Fluent in English and French 
  • Computer skills:  Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, word

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in developing and deploying Health and Safety Best Practice.
  • experience of risk assessment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams.
  • Experienced in auditing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management and systems.
  • Leadership and ability to lead people, convince/impact others.
  • Strong understanding of Production, Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing Systems
  • Good verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Strong coaching, facilitating and training skills.
