We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading company in the petroleum product distribution sector,

Planning and Production Manager (Secteur Pétrolier)

Principal Accountabilities:

-  Supervise and oversee production planning and manage production activities in full compliance with QHSSE standards.

-  Develop detailed production plans, budgets, and timelines according to customer demand and production specifications.

-  Ensure manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently.

-  Assess demand and determine production requirements based on plant capacity.

-  Manage raw materials inventories and cycle counts in coordination with stock accountants and stock controllers.

-  Prepare product costing and selling prices based on pricing formulas.

-  Determine manpower, machinery, consumables, and raw materials needed to meet production demand.

-  Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance, minimal delays, and achievement of the OTIF target of 96%.

-  Organize production scheduling according to demand and quality standards.

-  Coordinate raw material reception with logistics, suppliers, and customers.

-  Schedule shifts according to production needs.

-  Manage machines and teams to achieve an OEE target of 85% and production adherence plan target of 90%.

-  Monitor output information (e.g., finished products, defect rates).

-  Prepare and submit regular status and performance reports.

-  Maintain accurate and organized production documentation.

-  Collaborate with laboratory, quality control, warehouse, maintenance, and other internal teams.

-  Resolve production issues promptly and escalate unresolved problems to the Plant Manager.

-  Allocate and track labor resources and production schedules to ensure smooth operations and cost control.

-  Work closely with the Production Team to achieve production targets and maintain high performance on the shop floor.

-  Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel.

-  Coach and develop the production team; organize relevant on-the-job and off-the-job training in coordination with the Plant Manager.

-  Identify potential delays and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines.

-  Assist in production risk assessments and mitigation activities.

-  Proactively communicate with customers about any possible delays or disruptions.

-  Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction.

-  Conduct daily meetings to track production status and schedules.

-  Hold weekly meetings with customers to align production plans with their needs.

-  Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager for routine repairs and preventive maintenance.

-  Drive initiatives for cost optimization, sustainability, waste reduction, and process digitalization.

-  Work closely with the Supply Chain and Commercial teams to align production with customer needs and market demand.

Profile and Operational skills

-  Education: Graduate Engineer in Industrial, Process, Production, Electromechanical, Chemical, Instrumentation, or Agri-foods specialties.

-  Experience: Minimum 5 years’ proven experience as a Production Manager in FMCG or a similar industry with Batch production.

-  Expertise:

-  Strong knowledge of production management and operations.

-  Proven understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.

-  Solid working knowledge of equipment maintenance and instrumentation.

-  Experience with MRP II, ERP systems (SAP PP module is a plus), Power BI, and digital dashboards.

-  Knowledge of performance evaluation, budgeting concepts, and reporting on key production metrics.

-  Experience with SAP PP module, Power BI, digital dashboards, and automated planning systems.

Experience Requirements

The role should have experience in strong stakeholder and interface management, fast-paced decision-making, and complex production processes similar to batch blending, multi-line scheduling, and strict quality and safety standards.

-  Lubricants / Oil & Gas Downstream (preferred)

-  FMCG (liquids: detergents, chemicals, food processing)

-  Automotive fluids manufacturing (coolants, brake fluids, additives)

-  Agro-foods (complex blending, packaging, batch production)

-  Chemical / Petrochemical blending

-  Paints & Coatings (Batch blending, QC, packaging)

-  Pharmaceutical liquids / Cosmetics manufacturing

-  Adhesives & sealants production

-  Beverage bottling (non-carbonated)

-  Industrial manufacturing with high QHSSE standards and multi-line batch production

-  Automotive cabling / complex assembly (secondary fit if strong planning & QHSSE)

Other Requirements :

-  Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. Knowledge of ISO 50001 and ISO 17025 is a plus.

-  Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Automation, Power Apps, and process digitalization tools.
