We are currently looking for a person for the position:   

Accountant

Summary of main purpose of this job:

The Accountant is responsible for managing daily accounting activities, with a particular focus on accounts payable. The role ensures accurate and compliant financial bookings in accordance with Swiss GAAP FER, Tunisian law, and other applicable regulations. Key responsibilities include maintaining proper accounts payable records, managing petty cash, and adhering to Group policies and financial structures.

Essential requirements of skills, experience, physical requirements etc.:

  • Higher education within specified specialization: accountancy, economy, finance,
  • Experience:  Min 4 years’ experience in accountancy
  • Practical knowledge of accountancy and tax acts (ministry of finance certification confirming proficiency in accountancy or finance)
  • Knowledge of integrated IT systems – ERP, knowledge of SAP system will be an advantage
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office (especially MS Excel)
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Good communication skills

  • Good organizational skills 

Main tasks, duties, authorization limits and deputy functions:

1.  Invoice Collection: Collaborate with buyer to collect invoices related to purchase requisitions, orders, and delivery notes.
2.  PO Verification: Ensure purchase orders match requisitions in terms of cost centers or CAPEX numbers.
3.  Accounts Payable: Book accounts payable accurately.
4.  Tax Certificates: Prepare withholding tax certificates after vendor payments.
5.  Manual Financial Records: Write financial statements and journals in legal books.
6.  Fixed Assets Identification: Identify fixed assets using barcodes.
7.  Transport Invoices: Collect transport invoices and work with the Supply Chain Manager to assign cost centers.
8.  Financial Projects: Assist the Finance Manager with projects and documentation.
9.  Petty Cash Management: Manage petty cash.
10.  Bank Transactions: Ensure the bank transactions bookings in SAP and ensure the monthly bank reconciliation.
11.  IC Sales Invoices: Issue intercompany sales invoices.
12.  Scrap Invoices: Preparation of customs invoices of scrap and ensure the follow up until the preparation of sales invoices with all official customs documents.
13.  CAPEX File Update: Update the budgeted CAPEX file.
14.  Budget Monitoring: Track budget costs and note deviations.
15.  Stock taking: Make regular inventory of consumables and report the results and deviations after every stock take.
