The HSE Supervisor will be responsible to ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health. Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated. Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations
The HSE Supervisor will report directly to the Head of QHSE and will give day to day support to the Site Manager.
The HSE Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Develop, implement, and update comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs for the solar power plant.
· Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and industry standards.
· Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and assess the level of risk.
· Implement measures to mitigate identified risks and promote a culture of proactive safety awareness.
· Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes.
· Develop corrective and preventive action plans to avoid recurrence.
· Conduct HSE training sessions for plant personnel on safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental practices.
· Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
· Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
· Interface with regulatory agencies and participate in audits as required.
· Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
· Ensure the availability and functionality of emergency response equipment.
· Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, incidents, and training sessions.
· Prepare regular reports on HSE performance for management review.
· Collaborate with other departments to integrate HSE practices into daily operations.
· Communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate for HSE Supervisor role will provide evidence of the following to be considered for the role:
- Proven experience in HSE roles, preferably in the construction of energy or power project.
- Certified in General occupational health and safety
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and influence a positive safety culture.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking will be required
- Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent presentation, verbal, and written skills
- Knowledge of sustainability, sustainability reporting frameworks and standards
- Proficient in the use of Excel, MS Word, and Power Point
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within a similar role
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English
