CONTEXT
Protection Data Manager mainly works for the Libya Delegation and manages protection data and other information collected both internally and externally to support the ICRC’s activities on behalf of people entitled to protection under international humanitarian law and related decision-making.
Protection Data Manager
assists the Protection Data Manager Mobile in managing issues (entry, control,
technical aspects, and procedures) related to Management of internal database (analysis,
procedures, updates, proposals, etc.), as well as management of data related to Tracing work ( preservation, individual files management, proposals, etc.).
RELATIONSHIPS
• Internally, interacts with delegation staff, notably Protection field officers across all offices in Libya.
• Externally, interacts with counterparts in National Societies, external stakeholders and beneficiaries.
CERTIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIRED
• University degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent command of English and Arabic – French an asset.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of SQL or Virtual Basic programming languages an asset.
• Knowledge of data-analysis software an asset.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Minimum two years' work experience.
• ICRC experience an asset.
• Experience with case-management systems (specialized software).
• Information-management background.

• May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervises use of the Prot 6 case-management tool.
• Carries out data processing; sets data-entry procedures and participates in reviews of working procedures.
• Promotes a good data-management system and ensures that it is of high quality by carrying out data controls.
• Provides statistics on protection activities for external reporting and ad-hoc figures for internal use.
• Carries out data analysis.
• Contributes to the daily organization of the protection office.
• Guarantees the protection and security of individuals' personal data.
• Supports the protection coordination team in adopting and implementing new ICT tools.
• Actively participates and contributes to the Data Protection and other Protection meetings.
