System Engineer

Design the system infrastructure, also managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure. Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, virtual platforms, storage, backup, application software and system management tools. The job goal will be to ensure that the company technology infrastructure runs smoothly andefficiently.

Responsibilities:

·  Manage and monitor all installed systems andinfrastructure

·  Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system managementtools

·  Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructureavailability

·  Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement thosefixes

·  Maintain security, backup, and redundancystrategies

·  Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks

·  Participate in the design of information and operational supportsystems

·  Provide 2nd and 3rd levelsupport

·  Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problemresolution

·  System monitoring, including and not limitedto:

1.  System monitoring, including regular checking of system mails, error logs, alarmsetc.

2.  Performance monitoring for parameters like CPU utilization, disk capacityetc.

3.  Fault recognition, isolation and forwarding the issues with some analysis tothe

4.  Level 2 SupportEngineer.

5.  Hardware administration, maintenance andtroubleshooting

6.  Operating system administration, maintenance andtroubleshooting,

·  Database Monitoring including and not limitedto:

1.  Performance monitoring including database space maintenance, fragmentation and archiving of database data.

2.  System monitoring including memory usage, regular auditing of backup tasks and/or executionthereof.

3.  Fault recognition, isolation and forwarding DB related issues to Level 2Support

4.  Engineer.

·  Applicationmonitoring:

1.  Application health checking and maintenancethereof.

2.  Access and interpretation of applicationlogs/traces.

3.  Fault recognition, isolation and forwarding Application related issues to Level2

4.  SupportEngineer.

5.  MIS / GeneratingReports

6.  Log Issues with the web based supportsystem.
