Summary of the role

Part of the development team, the Software Developer role is to analyse user needs, design, code, test, debug, document and maintain software solutions.

Key responsibilities:

• Design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies.
• Propose viable technical solutions to customer/user for validation.
• Develop software according to internal standards.
• Conduct unit, package and performance tests of the software and ensure a level of quality.
• Participate in the validation / acceptance phase of the software ensuring the fine-tuning necessary to finalize the requirement.
• Create and maintain the technical documentation necessary for the tools and scripts and report progress to customers.
• Ensure solutions are delivered on time.
• Learn from experience and improve quality of current and future application solutions.
• Propose best practices and improvement to further automate internal tools.
• Train new comers.

Qualifications:

• Engineering degree in Computer Science.
• Experience in the IT Travel industry is a strong plus.
• Experienced in Unix/Linux environments.
• Deep knowledge of C/C++ and Python.
• Other languages are a plus (Java, C#, Perl, Ruby, etc).
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database.
• Knowledge of MongoDB is a strong plus.
• Experience with Agile is a plus.
• Good analytical, decision making, and trouble shooting skills.
• Good command of French and English especially written.
• Ability to work and contribute in a team environment.
• Customer and quality focus.
• Proactivity/flexibility.
