Position Summary

As a line manager you shall manage 2 scrum teams of each 5 developers and a scrum master in daily operation. You will report to the head of strategic IT projects located in Mönchengladbach, Germany.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Create and maintain high quality software components to be integrated in S&B products;
  • All aspects of people management – among them: Planning of training, annual talks, monitoring daily operation, advising and consulting daily work, motivate and stabilize teams;
  • Support HR in application processes to grow the teams;
  • Budget and vacation planning;

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science;
  • At least 5 years of experience in Software Development, of which at least 2 years in a managing role.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in all phases of software development including software design, development and testing.
  • Experience with Java software development and object-oriented programming experience is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures and design proposals, provide status and negotiate options.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development methodology (Agile-SCRUM).
  • Self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive results.

Good to have :

  • Business administration basic knowledge;
  • Knowledge in Continuous Integration, Test Automation and Continuous Deployment
  • Experience in geographically distributed software development

A plus would be:

  • German language skills
  • Cultural experiences in Europe
  • Experiences in migrating from a waterfall software development process to an agile one
