 Job Title: Purchasing officer (Trade)

Direct Report to: Purchasing Manager

Job Purpose:

The trade purchasing officer is responsible for executing and maintaining all activities of trade purchase. He also supports in following up procurement programs and plans. He is also responsible for identifying the ways to improve purchase policies and maintaining excellent relationships with trade goods suppliers. He can also identify the ways to ensure the purchase of quality goods at better price.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The duties of a trade purchasing officer include:

• Executing programs that ensures the effectiveness of the purchase activities of trade goods

• Supervising purchases from approved local and international suppliers for trade goods

• Ensuring the adherence of processes and coordinating to resolve any compliance/ compatibility issues.

• Negotiating key suppliers to get the best price and quality and reach best agreements

• Ensuring track of timely delivery with the coordination of the Operations Department

• Maintain close relationships and obtains the best price and quality deals

• Identifying quantity discounts across market

• Keeping a record of all the trade materials purchased for the store.

• Percent accuracy in terms of compliance adherence

• Negotiated cost reduction savings

Skills/Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communiqué aptitude and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to network and negotiate with suppliers.

• Analytical skills and the ability to work in a team.

• Decision-making and the ability to handle crisis and meet necessary deadlines.

Experience Year/Area:

• Bachelor’s degree in retail, store management or material procurement with 2 years of experience in retail or store purchases.
