Indirect Purchasing Manager
Location: Z.I. El Fejja – 5012 Sahline, Monastir – Tunisia
Department: Purshasing
Reports to: General Manager
Purpose of the Role
The Indirect Purchasing Manager will be responsible for optimizing the procurement of indirect goods and services for the Tunisian subsidiary. The mission is to ensure full alignment with Global Group strategies while achieving local efficiency, cost-saving, and quality targets. This role currently manages one direct report, with the potential for team expansion as the site grows.Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Operational Sourcing: Develop and implement the local purchasing strategy for indirect categories (CAPEX, MRO, IT, Utilities, Facilities, and Logistics).
- Internal Stakeholder Management: Act as a strategic partner for internal departments (Production, Maintenance, IT, HR, etc.) to define requirements and ensure timely service delivery.
- Supplier Management & Negotiation: Identify, audit, and onboard local and international suppliers. Lead negotiations to optimize the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Contract Management: Draft and manage local contracts and Frame Agreements, ensuring legal compliance and favorable commercial terms.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on purchasing KPIs (savings, lead times, supplier performance) in accordance with targets shared by the Italian HQ and local management.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor one direct report, fostering a result-oriented culture and professional growth within the department.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Education: Master’s Degree in Engineering or Economics.
- Experience: minimum 8 years of experience in Procurement, with a specific focus on Indirect Materials and Services.
- Background: Proven track record within multinational companies. Deep knowledge of the Tunisian local market and its supplier landscape is essential. Technical Skills (Hard Skills)
- Expertise in negotiation techniques and financial cost analysis (TCO models).
- Strong proficiency in SAP ERP systems and Excel.
- Solid understanding of international and local commercial law and contract drafting.
- Languages: Fluent English is mandatory (for global reporting). Competencies (Soft Skills)
- Leadership: Ability to lead by example and manage current and future team members.
- Stakeholder Influence: Strong communication skills to navigate a matrix organization and interface with diverse departments.
- Analytical Mindset: A data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Integrity: High ethical standards in managing supplier relationships and corporate resources.
