Production Engineer
Location: Z.I. El Fejja – 5012 Sahline, Monastir – Tunisia
Department: Production
Reports to: Engineering Responsible
Purpose of the Role
Support the industrialization and production processes by ensuring efficient technology transfer, optimal machine layout and installation, definition and implementation of work methods, and successful introduction of new products into production. The role aims to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the transfer of technology and production know-how from the Romania site to the Tunisia site.
- Ensure proper installation, layout, and commissioning of machines and production lines.
- Plan and execute the industrialization of new products and processes.
- Manage the preparation of necessary tooling, fixtures, and equipment for new products.
- Optimize production layout for efficient workflows and smooth integration of new lines/products.
- Define, implement, and monitor work methods to improve efficiency, reduce production time, scrap, and resource consumption.
- Support initiatives for productivity improvement, cost reduction, and OEE enhancement.
- Participate in Lean activities such as 5S, TPM, and SMED.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, quality, scrap rate, and resource consumption.
- Identify production issues and propose corrective actions to achieve targets.
- Ensure adherence to workplace safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Promote safe work practices and proper use of protective equipment.
- Participate in initiatives to reduce environmental impact, energy consumption, and waste.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production and successful technology transfer.
- Support training and guidance for production operators during the transition and industrialization phases.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience in production engineering, industrialization, or manufacturing process optimization.
- Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI) and technology transfer projects.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and machine layout.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, TPM, SMED, Kaizen).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret production data and implement solutions.
- Knowledge of quality, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage projects effectively.
- Proficiency in production/engineering software (MS Office, CAD, ERP).
- Good English & French communication.
- Flexible, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
