Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) is responsible for the technical design, engineering, performance and long-term reliability of company’s assets.

The CTO leads solar engineering, system design and technical supervision of new projects, while also ensuring that all installations meet high standards of quality, safety and performance, in compliance with local and international regulations.

The role combines engineering leadership, technical oversight of construction and commissioning, and operational performance management.

Main Responsibilities

1. Solar Design & System Sizing

• Design and size PV systems (modules, inverters, cabling, structures, storage if applicable)
• Develop electrical diagrams and layout drawings
• Select equipment based on performance, reliability and cost efficiency
• Optimise energy yield and overall system performance

2. Technical Studies & Engineering

• Perform energy production simulations and loss calculations
• Analyse system performance and expected yields
• Ensure grid compatibility and compliance with local constraints
• Prepare technical calculations, engineering notes and reports

3. Construction Support & Technical Supervision

• Support Project Managers and construction teams during installation
• Verify compliance of works with approved designs and specifications
• Participate in testing, commissioning and acceptance procedures
• Identify, analyse and resolve technical issues on site

4. Operations & Maintenance Oversight

• Supervise daily operation and performance of assets via monitoring platforms
• Analyse alarms, incidents and performance deviations
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and define corrective / preventive actions
• Ensure high availability and reliability of installations

5. Quality, Standards & HSE

• Ensure compliance with IEC, NF and other applicable international standards
• Enforce electrical safety and HSE requirements on all installations
• Maintain and validate technical documentation (as-built drawings, manuals, datasheets)
• Define and update REDAVIA technical standards and procedures

6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Identify innovative technical solutions to improve performance or reduce costs
• Monitor technological developments in PV modules, inverters and storage systems
• Support standardisation and replication of solutions across countries
• Contribute to technical strategy for portfolio expansion

Profile Requirements

Education

• Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Specialisation or strong experience in solar PV is highly preferred

Experience

• 5–10+ years of experience in solar photovoltaic projects
• Proven experience in system design, engineering, commissioning and/or operations
• Exposure to C&I or IPP solar projects is a strong advantage

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency with PV design and simulation software
• Solid knowledge of on-grid and off-grid PV systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
• Strong understanding of electrical standards, safety and HSE requirements

• Strong analytical and technical rigor
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
• Hands-on and solution-oriented mindset
• Clear communication with field teams, management and partners

Languages

• English: professional / fluent
• French: professional (advantage)

International travel requirement: up to 30%.
