The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will be part of our Engineering Department and will be responsible for designing and drafting various systems. Our customers are primarily manufacturing facilities across various industries including chemical, power generation, refining, oil & gas, and marine industries.
Typical work assignments will include:
Review MEP drawings and identify related electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Develop schematics, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, fabrication drawings, and BOMs in compliance with standards.
Gather and validate data required for electrical and instrumentation design work.
Perform electrical cable sizing, cable list, power balance/load calculations, and prepare electrical layouts (lighting, power, equipment connections).
Use DIALux for lighting studies and Caneco BT for LV electrical calculations and sizing.
Perform 3D modelling and coordination using Revit.
Develop network and electrical drawings using AutoCAD, including wiring diagrams, equipment power distribution, grounding, Ethernet/industrial control networks, and related systems.
Job Requirements
Basic qualifications include:
Technically proficient individual with an engineering degree (Electrical, Instrumentation).
Minimum 2 years of experience in Electrical and Instrumentation design.
Ability to comprehend and interpret technical literature, standards, and specifications.
Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
Electrical design experience (low voltage) including cable sizing, power distribution, load lists, and equipment layouts.
Knowledge of PLC and networking platforms, with proficiency in wiring field devices, panels, and industrial equipment.
Experience or strong interest in Instrumentation, industrial automation and electrical system design.
General knowledge of industrial network protocols such as Modbus and Ethernet-based control networks.
Proficiency in Revit (3D modelling), DIALux, and Caneco BT is an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Deadline-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple assignments.
