LEAN SPECIALIST

Department: Lean
Reports to: Lean Manager

Purpose of the Role

 

The Lean Specialist plays a key role in identifying, analysing, and reducing losses across production flows using tools, principles, and techniques from the Zoppas Lean System (ZLS). 

The role involves active participation in improvement projects, lean workshops, and cross-functional collaboration aimed at operational efficiency and performance enhancement.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Participate in lean projects, workshops, and improvement initiatives to solve complex production problems
  2. Analyse losses in production (muda, mura, muri) and propose solutions to eliminate inefficiencies
  3. Monitor and update key KPIs (safety, quality, cost, lead time, OEE, etc.) and intervene in case of deviations
  4. Create and improve production layouts to ensure optimal flow and flexibility
  5. Lead or support 5S, TPM, and SMED (rapid setup) initiatives and ensure compliance with action plans
  6. Analyse workflows and value streams to eliminate waste and enhance customer value
  7. Validate and support the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  8. Oversee and manage visual boards and materials within lean projects
  9. Conduct lean trainings (both theoretical and practical) for production staff and improvement teams
  10. Contribute to the deployment of the Zoppas Lean System across departments
  11. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and work regulations

 

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication (Tunisian + English preferable)
  • Clear understanding of technical documentation and production flows
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving (critical thinking required)
  • Ability to lead small teams or workshops (Lean/Kaizen)
  • Active listening and cross-functional communication
  • Familiarity with lean tools (5S, SMED, A3, QRQC, value stream mapping, etc.)

Education & Background

  • Qualifications: Education High school diploma: Specialization Technical background Advanced Lean / Continuous Improvement certifications
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in industrial or continuous improvement
  • Skills: Industrial/technical specialisation. Proficiency in MS Office. SAP appreciated.
  • Software MS Office, Gmail SAP, workflow tools, lean dashboards
