At LRT Innovation Labs, we’re leading the charge in shaping the future of
electric mobility. Our commitment to innovation and sustainability drives us
forward, combining the precision of German engineering with a global
perspective.
As a Tunisian company with international roots, we offer a dynamic work
environment that embraces the best of both worlds. Founded by a visionary with
deep expertise from a German company established in 1998, we are proud to be
Tunisia’s first EV charging infrastructure manufacturer.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer who specializes in PCB development and design to join our team. This is a key role where your expertise in Altium will be paramount in designing high-quality, multi-layer PCBs for next-generation electric vehicle chargers. You will lead the design, development, and testing of advanced PCB layouts for high-power, mixed-signal designs, and collaborate closely with our software and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software.
As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the hardware architecture of our products and ensuring that all PCB designs meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and reliability. You will work on complex, innovative projects that push the boundaries of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- PCB Design & Development: Take ownership of designing and developing high-performance PCBs using Altium. This includes multi-layer designs (4+ layers), high-power circuits, and designs that incorporate both digital and analog signals, as well as RF circuitry.
- Design Modification: Modify and improve existing PCB designs, ensuring they meet evolving product requirements and industry standards.
- Integration with Firmware: Collaborate closely with embedded software and firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware with software, focusing on optimized functionality and performance.
- Testing & Certification: Lead PCB testing for compliance with necessary certifications (EMI/EMC, CE, FCC, etc.), ensuring that the designs meet all required safety and regulatory standards.
- Component Research: Continuously research and evaluate alternative components to optimize the Bill of Materials (BOM), considering price, availability, and performance.
- Simulation & Analysis: Use simulation tools (e.g., SPICE) to model and analyze circuit behavior, identifying potential issues and optimizing the design before physical implementation.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed design documentation, ensuring transparency and traceability of all PCB-related decisions throughout the development process.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in PCB development and design using Altium Designer.
- PCB Design Expertise: Proven experience designing multi-layered PCBs (4+ layers) for high-power applications, as well as mixed-signal circuits (digital, analog, RF).
- Electronics Knowledge: In-depth understanding of electronic components, PCB fabrication processes, and the full PCB design cycle.
- Embedded Systems: Familiarity with MCU peripherals (PWM, ADC, DAC, timers, interrupts, RTC, WDT, DMA) and embedded communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, Modbus, USB-CDC, RS232, RS485, RS422).
- Lab Equipment: Experience with advanced electronic lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators.
- Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, especially firmware and embedded systems engineers.
- Language: Proficient in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high-power charging circuitry for electric vehicles.
- Familiarity with embedded Linux circuit design (high-speed CPU with DDR SDRAM).
- Experience with SPICE simulation tools for PCB analysis and optimization.
- Knowledge of SAE J1772 and ISO 15118 standards for electric vehicle chargers.
Skills & Attributes
- Attention to Detail: Precision in PCB layout design and troubleshooting.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for resolving complex design challenges.
- Innovation: Passion for developing state-of-the-art electronic solutions for electric vehicles and charging infrastructure.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication skills to collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across teams.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to multiple ongoing projects.
