BI Engineer (Data Engineer)

PLACE IN THE ORGANIZATION

The BI Engineer (Data Engineer) reports to the teamlead BI Engineer. The location will be Tunis and from here supports the company in the Netherlands (Rotterdam-area).

PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION

A BI Engineer (Data Engineer) is responsible for designing, building and (automatically) managing the data environments within the enterprise.

RESULT AREAS AND ACTIVITIES

1. Platform and Product Development

· Responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of parts that are part of the BTG Data Platform.

· Analyzing and interpreting data issues and associated reports and translating them into functional requirements

· You describe technical specifications based on a functional design,

· Apply and advocate for DevOps and SRE practices and principles.

2. Platform and Product Management

· Ensures that the services the organization manages are healthy, secure and operational

· Ensures quality standards for availability, performance, security and given privacy, monitor them and include them when designing and refining new solutions.

· Contribute to the Cloud Infrastructure strategy to achieve our technical goals and improve our KPIs for the entire service.

· Provide technical support and manage incidents as needed.

· Find, assess and communicate security threats to stakeholders and draw up an action plan if necessary

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Engineer

· At least 4 years of work experience in a similar position for a medior.

· Extensive knowledge of SQL and Azure and other relevant techniques, such as

o Designing and setting up ETL/ELT processes,

o Data modeling,

o Azure Data Factory,

o Microsoft SQL Server,

o T-SQL

o Visual Studio 2019 / Visual Studio Code,

o JSON & REST Webservices,

o Advantage: PowerBI, SSRS

You have a hands-on mentality, strong problem-solving skills and are always up to date with the latest techniques.
