Product / Design Engineer

Position overview:

Reporting directly to the engineering supervisor, our future Product/Design engineer will have as main missions to develop complete seat and/or seat commodities (Plastics, metals, foams, safety and comfort system integration), that meet specs and regulations, the company and costumers ’quality requirements, on time and within the budget.

Your missions:

• Understand all expectations and ensure milestone’s deliverables as defined in the project life cycle (Design for assembly, design for manufacturing, KPC, …).
• manage project activities and proactively evaluate gapsto targets, define plans tonot effect timing.
• Create and modify parametric designs using Catia and NX. (Surfacing, Solid, …)
• Perform analyses related to packaging, kinematics, assembling and other studies.
• Perform stack up calculation.
• Create or update 2D drawing, with the respectof the GD&T and ISO standards.
• Conduct engineering evaluation of a product change to determine affected partsand systems, CAD and other engineering deliverables.
• Attend and conduct design reviews with adequate data to justify product status. 
• Exploit a range of engineering tools and data to establish design confidence prior to DV & PV testing (surrogate data, FEA/CAE, Experts consultation).

To be successful for this role:

• Master’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
• With minimum 6 years of experience in the Product design and development, within the automotive or similar sectors, in interior and seating is a plus.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering principle.
• Outstanding knowledge in CATIA V5 and Siemens NX.
• Advanced knowledge onmanufacturing and assembling process.
• Relevant experience in designing plastics and metals parts
• Knowledge of Teamcenter or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
• Good level of English written and spoken is a must.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ownership, leadership, and innovative thinking are keys to succeed in your role.
