Teaching Centre Assistant British Council

Role purpose: To assist in the smooth running of the Young Learner and other teaching centre work. To supervise and ensure the safety of all Young Learners.

Main opportunities/challenges for this role: 

• To work in partnership with the class teacher, creating a positive English learning environment for young learners.

• To support the wider aims of British Council. 

• To work under the guidance/instruction of a staff member to undertake work/care/ support programmes to enable access to learning for students.

• Young learners (up to 17 years) are taught by qualified teachers, with Teaching Centre Assistants to assist in the smooth running of the programme. 
•  From September to June, we have classes on both Saturday and Sunday and during the week. In the summer (July and August), there are classes from Monday to Friday. 
•  Administrative work will take place at intervals throughout the year, and work times and weekends to be agreed in line with business needs and staff availability. 
•  Teaching Centre Assistants will be required to follow the British Council dress code.
