Technician

The jobs in this level are responsible for performing limited assignments of specific engineering tasks on a limited number of machines , such as planning and analysis  technical work, in order to enhance the function.

•Follows all relevant Operations and Maintenance policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

•Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the Operations and Maintenance on a limited number of machines to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.

•Leads and directsthe technician’s/operations teams within the shift to comply with the directions of the Engineering team.

•Monitorsthe operating conditions, identifying and responding appropriately to problems, allocating or escalating them as necessary and records their rectification.

•Maintains a log of all activities undertaken, in order to feed into team activity report and prepares periodical reports and statistics for management use.

•Controls and monitors work undertaken in order to identify any variances against agreed response times and take remedial action as necessary.

•Ensures compliance of operations under own supervision with the industry standards and requirements or regulating authorities.

•Conduct basic on the job training for the technician’s/operations teams to ensure continuous amelioration and  compliance procedures .

•Complies with all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
