The Data Steward ESI primary purpose is to work collaboratively within the Sales Efficiency Centre of Excellence (CoE) to help drive data stewardship as a functional role in data management and governance, with responsibility for ensuring that data policies and standards turn into practice within ESI domains. Data stewards assist the enterprise in leveraging domain data assets to full capacity.

This position will be a key contributor in the Sales Efficiency Centre of Excellence (CoE) extracting and processing multiple data sources, cleansing, applying business rules, enriching and reporting.

The ESI Data Stewards will be the go-to experts for the company in the realm of data; responsible for assuring quality and trust in the data, supporting standard definitions for the organisation to follow, and maintaining a consistent use of data resources across the organisation. You will be an advocate and thought leader of data, enabling sales and keeping a pulse on new best practices and technology.

Key Objectives

  • Maintain quality of the data by evaluating and identifying issues; and coordinating and implementing corrections regularly.
  • Create processes and procedures within access controls. This includes establishing internal policies and standards.
  • Optimize workflows and communications.
  • Follow case management practices and processes to provide a timely and effective service.
  • Ensure compliance and security of the data. Data stewards are responsible for protecting the data while providing information on potential risks and offering regulatory guidance.
  • Maintain automated data examination tools and processes.
  • Support data validation and cleansing to ensure accessible data is accurate.
  • Monitor and audit data quality.
  • Liaise with internal customers to fully understand data content.
  • Monitor data usage to assist teams, share best practice trends in data use, and improve databases so teams can use data efficiently to help in day-to-day sales activity.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Strong ability to extract, manipulate, transform and analyse large volumes of data with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail - you value accuracy.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of data cleansing, and data enrichment techniques.
  • Capacity to follow procedures and workflows.
  • Ability to carry out data quality control, validation and linkage.
  • Understanding of data protection issues, including GDPR.
  • Awareness and knowledge of industry-specific databases and data sets.
  • Superb organisation skills with excellent time management.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Fluent English language, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Sales/Marketing Operations, Data Entry, or Quality Control environment.
  • Prior Knowledge of SFDC (and/or other CRM platforms)
  • Competency and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) to produce high quality reports, presentations and other documents.
