crit recruits on behalf of its client a buyer for a 6-month mission:

The Buyer purchases a high volume and variety of materials, supplies, and services. Analyses supplier operations to determine factors that affect process and drives lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and the ability to meet required schedules. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes. Responsible for complying with corporate policies, procedures and underlying local regulations concerning the purchase and/or shipment of goods, materials, or services.

The position reports to the C&P Head of Department.


Candidates will be mainly required to:

  • Evaluates bids, selects and recommends suppliers, and negotiates price, delivery, quality and service
  • Manages all awarded POs through to completion, and expedites as needed
  • Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes.
  • Issues purchase orders for the production or procurement of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements
  • Identifies and qualifies new suppliers and vendors based on production capability, performance, and cost
  • Assists management in resolving problems concerning over-shipments, shortages, engineering changes and cancellations
  • Manages and reports supplier on-time delivery KPIs and supplier report cards
  • Responsible to manage and report individual metrics
  • Collaborates with Supply Chain team and internal stakeholders to identify and action continuous improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND MAIN SKILLS: 

  • University completed degree (Minimum Bac+3).
  • Fluency in English, Arabic and French languages- Written and Spoken.
  • Good computer skill.
  • Experience in the use of C&P systems and tools (mainly SAP) is highly recommended.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Experience working in a similar position with international companies is preferred.
