Thermoplastics Tunisia is a Maltese owned Company based in Malta and Tunisia (Zaghouan) that has expanded rapidly since its formation in 1996. From modest beginnings the company now supplies major manufacturing firms in Malta and overseas with their requirements . 

We are in search for a highly motivated and energetic individual to join our dynamic team for the position of Head of Production, being parts of the senior management team.

Job responsibilities

-Plans, organizes and controls the manufacturing functions of the plant in order to assemble and manufacture quality products efficiently, on time, and profitably.

-Conducts plant inspections to ensure safe work practices by visual observations, memos, personal guidance and if necessary, corrective action to ensure that procedures and practices are being followed.

-Responsible for the overall production of the company.

-Leads all production operations in the plant(s) and coordinates the work of production departments through familiarity with all processes; continual awareness of customer shipping requirements, work schedules and quality levels;

-Analyzes and determines material, equipment and staffing requirements by studying daily operating results, through daily meeting with subordinates, as well as daily contact with various department heads; to determine how to overcome production problems and follow-up to ascertain that problems have been corrected or to determine the next best course of action;

-Motivates and direct the training of all production personnel through the ability to select competent individuals; trains and develops each individual by taking advantage of his / her strengths and improving weaknesses; by instilling in each individual a sense of responsibility.

-Meet production and quality deadlines, targets and objective in an effective and efficient manner.

Key skills and requirements

-Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience working within a manufacturing firm in a similar role of Production or senior position.

-Strong technical knowledge and experience in Injection moulding, assembly and packaging of final products.

-Strong knowledge and experience working with Injection Moulding machines such as; Arburg, Demag, KraussMaffei, Ferromatik. (Including double injection ).

-Blow moulding and thermoforming experience will be a great asset and will be given preferance.

-Advanced engineering degree will be a great asset.

-Hands on experience working within production and maintenance environment.

-Highly understanding of technical issues in mechanics and electrics in order to provide proper support to all departments.

-Proven experience in leading large teams and departments.

-Experience working within an ISO environment and able to implement, follow and maintain the procedures.

-Proven operational and plant leadership abilities

-Fluency in English language is required.
