The position is located in Tunis, Tunisia with Calgary trips when required.

Role and Responsibilities:

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing all financial matters related to the Tunisian organization.  This is a key senior position who will work closely with the Serinus executive team and the President of Winstar Tunisia in setting the strategy for the Tunisian subsidiary and adhering to this strategy.

The Finance Manager will oversee the finance team, administrative team (IT, reception, drivers and vehicle coordinators) and procurement team.

This position will work closely with the Calgary finance team in addressing the financial reporting requirements of a publicly traded company and will be responsible for the internal control environment in the organization to ensure processes, procedures and controls are adequate to support a publicly listed company.

This position will also assume the responsibility to oversee the annual budget process and subsequent reporting of results against budget, including analysis and reasoning for variances, as well as overseeing the monthly forecasting of results and cash balances.  The Finance Manager will also oversee the AFE processes, including economics of projects and availability of funds to meet commitments, oversee the tax process, including reporting, filings and audits, and oversee the insurance process, working closely with the Calgary office. It is expected that this position will review the financial information and reporting to the Calgary office and enhance reporting packages and dissemination of financial information to the executive team.

The Finance Manager will be a key interface with the Serinus executive team. This position will also be the key relationship person with our partner ETAP and will oversee all financial aspects of the JOA (Joint Operating Agreement), including timely resolution of audit issues, cash call issues or any other matters that arise. In addition, this position is expected to build and maintain strong relationships with auditors, lawyers, bankers, other professional advisors and industry players.

Required Skills and Experience

·  University Degree Master in Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 15 years of relevant oil and gas industry experience.

·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required in three languages (Arabic, French and English).

·  Strong computer skills are required, especially in Excel and Power-point.

·  Strong leadership skills.

·  Excellent written and spoken communication skills and strong presentation skills both internally and, as required, externally. 

·  Ability to effectively coach and mentor staff to enhance performance. 

·  Ability to be hands on and detailed where required as to ensure the financial numbers are well understood and communicated. 

·  Ability to assimilate information and communicate to the executive team in a succinct manner.

·  Ability to identify, introduce and implement change.  Ability to be proactive and contribute to the running of the Tunisian office as well as Serinus.

·  Expert knowledge of and experience in the oil and gas business in Tunisia.

Reporting:

·  Report directly to the President Winstar Tunisia BV/Chief Financial Officer, Serinus Energy.

  Salary is commensurate with experience.
