Summary of the role

The Software Support Engineer is part of the team supporting one of the leading system in the Airline industry. It is a unique opportunity to learn Airlines IT before evolving towards other positions  in development or consulting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analyze bugs reported by external users or internal team.
  • Identify root cause.
  • Propose recovery strategy.
  • Develop and maintain support and maintenance tools and scripts.
  • Conduct tests.
  • Create and maintain the technical documentation necessary for the tools and scripts and report progress to customers.
  • Ensure solutions are delivered on time.
  • Learn from experience and improve quality of current and future application solutions.
  • Propose best practices and improvement.
  • Train new comers.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in Computer Science is a must.
  • Capacity and willingness to understand complex functional flows and processes.
  • Experience in the IT Travel industry is a strong plus.
  • Experienced in Unix/Linux environments (shell, scripting)
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Other languages are a plus (Java, C++, Perl, C#, etc).
  • Good knowledge/experience of SQL
  • Good analytical, decision making, and trouble shooting skills.
  • Good command of French and English.
  • Ability to work and contribute in a team environment.
  • Customer and quality focus.
  • Proactivity/flexibility.
  • Up to 2 years experience.
