As a Developer / Architect, you will have dual roles of participating in development of a 1,300+ user base web application and work closely with the tech team to push us forward in technology strategy.  This includes contributing to the R&D and implementation of new technologies, suggest training regimes for other technical staff, and liaise with other developers/release management/product owners/business analysts/regional support/QA/designers/IT/project stakeholders and security officers globally.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

· Participate in the maintainence of legacy and current intranet/extranet

· Maintain a global server infrastructure from operating system to web server.

· Investigate and implement necessary tooling to allow the development team to function efficiently.

· Assist team members on development strategies

· Be part of business continuity planning and implementation.

· Build and maintain the libraries and frameworks to support complex web applications.

Requirements

Excellent business communication, writing and interpersonal in English essential

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

5+ years of PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL backend experience.

Object-oriented application building experience in a professional Agile/Scrum environment

Good knowledge of relational databases, service oriented architectures and of developing web services

Expert knowledge with MVC frameworks

Understanding of User Interface workflows

Knowledge working closely with source control systems such as subversion.

Excellent communication skills and being able to work independently or in a full team

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

Expertise in the administration and optimization of web systems (LAMP)

Proficiency in Linux environment

Proficiency in Node.js, react.js and JQuery

Understanding of OS level virtualisation technologies

Understanding of build / release management processes and related technologies.
